The Y300 is the largest production desktop model Stirling Engine on the market. This engine features no castings, and is fully CNC machined from billet aluminum. It's dual power piston and displacer design compliments a stunning rocker beam display when the engine is in operation. With using just 3 tea-light candles as fuel, this engine can operate uninterrupted for up to 4 hours due to water-cooling and an efficient design.
Highlights:
- Engine is made of 6061 billet aluminum/ fully CNC machined
- Sealed/ greased ball bearings (18 ball bearings)
- Water-cooled using distilled water
- Engine never needs oiling due to custom industrial bronze graphite plugged bushings used for the displacer sleeve and power piston cylinder
- Stainless steel fasteners, cooling tank pins, and counterweights
- Heat treated/ ground displacer shaft and power piston
- Highly efficient gas ported phenolic displacer piston/ firmly bolted to shaft
- High temperature silicone o rings
- Cooled displacer cylinder wall
- Runs on 3 (4 hour variety) tealight candles, no alcohol burners needed
- All engines are ultrasonically cleaned
- Fully assembled, tested, and ready to run
- Manufactured in house, in Canada

How a Stirling Engine Operates:
Stirling Engines convert heat energy into mechanical energy. Heat energy is applied at one end of the engine (in this case tea-light candles) and the other end is cooler to maintain a temperature difference between the two. The air inside the engine is shunted by displacers, to the hot and cold ends, which cause pressures and vacuums respectively, to influence the power pistons and create mechanical motion.
